Questions

Good to know

Straight answers to the questions people ask most. Anything else, just ask on your Fit Call.

How are you paid?

For planning, you pay the flat fee listed for the service you choose: $395 for a Meeting, $995 for Compass or $1,995 for GlidePath. There are no hidden costs, and you never have to invest or buy insurance with me to get a plan.

If you'd like your investments under my purview, my fee is typically 1% a year, depending on the size of your investments, paid monthly from your accounts with no separate bill. Including platform and investment management fees, the total ongoing cost is typically around 1.3% to 1.5% a year.

If your plan shows a need for life, critical illness or disability insurance, I can help you put it in place. I'll explain exactly how I'm compensated before you decide, and you're always free to buy coverage elsewhere.

What if I'm not happy with the service?

I stand behind every Meeting, Compass and GlidePath plan. If you don't feel the value was there, just let me know and I'll refund your fee.

I offer this because I believe the process is an incredibly insightful experience, and I'd rather earn your trust than keep a fee you don't feel good about.

What happens on the Fit Call?

It's a free, relaxed 15 to 30 minute conversation. We'll talk about where you are, what you're hoping to get done and what matters most to you. If one of my services is a good fit, I'll tell you which one and why. If not, I'll point you to resources that can help, including the free course and tools. There's no obligation either way.

What's the difference between Compass and GlidePath?

Compass is a simplified plan. We define your values, get a clear snapshot of where you are, put your goals in order of priority and map the exact next steps. It's a great fit when your finances are fairly straightforward.

GlidePath is comprehensive. Every goal is mapped out in detail, with specific steps for how to reach it. You also get recommendations on accounts, investments, debt and cash flow, and a priority action list.

Both follow the same process: a discovery meeting, the planning work, a presentation meeting, your deliverables by email and a check-in about 30 days later.

Do you work with people outside Manitoba?

Yes. Planning is available to Canadians across the country, and your plan is built around Canadian accounts, taxes and rules wherever you live. I'm licensed for insurance in Manitoba; outside Manitoba, I can refer you to trusted insurance professionals in your province.

What do I need to get started?

Just book a free Fit Call. If we decide to work together, we start with a discovery meeting. Afterwards, I'll send a short checklist of documents to gather, like statements and insurance coverages, so your plan is built on accurate numbers.

Not sure which fits?

Book a free, no-obligation Fit Call. In 15 to 30 minutes, we'll talk about where you are and what you're hoping to get done, and I'll point you to the option that makes the most sense, even if that's the free course.
